With Surf Shack as the theme of Bible school, the surfers, ages three through 12, are participating in a variety of surf related activities that teach them about creating, helping and loving in today’s world and the calmness that comes as they experience God’s love, said Amanda Ford, FUMC Bible School director. The activities for this year’s Vacation Bible School include, music, games and recreation, crafts, science, Bible study and missions. “As a part of our mission program we learning why our Hands and Feet Project is so important and how, through it, we are helping the orphaned children of Haiti,” Ford said. “We have set a goal of $700 in donations to help these children and, if we reach our goal, we will be entertained with a chicken dance at our closing celebration at 11:30 a.m. Friday.
