first_imgCategories: Letters to the Editor, OpinionFrom the bottom of my heart, I’d like to thank Mr. Jim Schaefer for his Jan. 14 letter regarding our nation’s return to Puritanism. He provided me insight through these points:Some people would take advantage of a movement for their own benefit. Who knew? The mentions of a Democratic politician and certain media figures accused of harassment? I guess Trump, O’Reilly, Ailes, Franks, Farenthold and Clarence Thomas are truly innocent. I am enlightened.I am proud to mentor Asian-American students at the University at Albany. I tell them to be safe, especially in an era where racism and sexist behavior of quite up front. I also tell the ladies that regardless of what they wear, whether they are at a formal event, an electronic dance music concert or step dancing for their sororities, it’s not an invitation for men to offer sexual advances. The death of the fashion choices you mention is greatly exaggerated. In the meantime sir, “Mad Men” called. They would like to use your letter for a portion of the script if the show returns. Feel free to discuss with them. Archie Bunker’s chair will be kept warm for you.Michael FondacaroAlbanyMore from The Daily Gazette:EDITORIAL: Beware of voter intimidationFoss: Should main downtown branch of the Schenectady County Public Library reopen?EDITORIAL: Urgent: Today is the last day to complete the censusEDITORIAL: Find a way to get family members into nursing homesEDITORIAL: Thruway tax unfair to working motoristslast_img
