Picture Mike BatterhamIT looks like a luxury car dealership but this showroom is actually part of John Edwards’ Hope Island house.The mastermind behind international board games business, Jedko, designed his house in a week, spent three months tweaking the design and then built it in a year. “Most homes only come with two car spaces which is a bit of a problem when you’re a car enthusiast,” the retired artist said.“They are a work of art so I figure why hide them away.” Mr Edwards has his blue Porsche and black Ferrari on display in his custom-designed showroom in the living room. Trophies fill the cabinets and photos of Mr Edwards in his prime racing Porches in the 1980s line the walls. The courtyard was designed with a long drain down the middle so Mr Edwards could reverse his cars out to wash them. “I drive them all at least twice a week,” he said.“I have always been in love with cars. I was once in the Melbourne Porsche racing club too but I designed the house so I could live here forever. The showroom can still be easily be transformed into an alfresco with a pool.”His wife, former model Donna Anna, said the couple shared a love for Porsches and it would be hard parting with the cars when the pair relocate to their Versace penthouse this year.“We are selling three of the five cars but it has been really difficult choosing which ones to let go of,” Ms Anna said.Tucked away in the gated Sanctuary Cove estate, 2264 Banksia Drive is on the market at $2.495 million. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom house also features a wine storage room and backs onto a golf course.
